The 1990s brought a shift into digital imaging, introducing solutions that helped define the modern digital dental practice. In the 2000s, Planmeca spearheaded CBCT 3D imaging and launched Romexis, a software platform that would tie imaging, workflow, and clinical data together. By the 2010s, they had created fully integrated digital pathways, combining 2D and 3D imaging with CAD/CAM, milling, and patient-specific design.
